Bus Ride Talks

When we realized we wanted to start a podcast, it was a dark moment. Everyone has a podcast. Why do we NEED a podcast? We wanted to create a platform for conversations with artists about what they love, what they are working on, and what they are working towards. Episodes will drop /weekly/ on the wide range of podcast-listening-venues.

Bus Ride Talks is a bit of an oxymoron. The notion of strangers striking up a rich, philosophical conversation on the bus is idyllic bs. Buses are often filled with tired people going to work, or on the way home. The energy for connecting with another human being isn’t always there. The rigors of living in our society get in the way of knowing each other. BRT creates a venue for two or three humans to connect, not just as artists, but as people. What are their struggles? What are their triumphs?

The existence of nonprofits is an indictment of our society. Whole organizations, staffed by underpaid, human-minded individuals, exist in order to counteract the failures and active damage done towards groups of people, as well as our species’ chance of sustainable living. Each week, our guest on BRT will select a community-focused organization for whom to generate awareness and fundraising. We work to support those who directly push our world into a more just position.
